Meditation
The amount of research now being done to support the physical, emotional, and psychological benefits of meditation is astounding. Meditation was originally rooted in India, and is a foundational practice in many spiritual belief systems. The beginning stages of meditation practice is learning to train your awareness. As you progress into more advanced stages of meditation, you can start to enter into different brain waves (alpha, theta, even delta!), that will assist in your healing, expanding consciousness, and start tapping into more creative centers of the brain that cannot typically be accessed while operating in beta brain waves (the brain wave of active thought and learning - usually what you are in when you are awake!)
